Former Director Dr. Willis Laurence James, a noted folk-musicologist, conducted extensive research and observations in Negro folk music. Dr. James was also instrumental in arranging for the Glee Clubs very first extended concert tour, to Washington D.C. Since then, our annual Spring Tour has extended nation-wide; with the Glee Club traveling to cities all over the country.
